Traffic Lights

Using the GPIO header on the Raspberry Pi I built a set of LED traffic lights and programmed the normal UK sequence. I also added a Pedestrian crossing style function whereby if you press the space bar, the sequence completes it cycle and holds red whilst the pedestrian crossing lights flash.

Script was produced in Scratch With GPIO which is great for the Raspberry Pi and easy to use for everyone. Project could be used and multiplied to create traffic signals for model railways and villages or could be scaled up with the help of an Arduino or other breakout board to produce Archery timing signals and similar.

Timings for the light durations etc can be easily altered in scratch.
