Los Angeles Driving Tour: Sunset Blvd from West Hollywood all the way to the Pacific Ocean (PCH)2017

You don’t see people use this scenic route too often because it’s kind of curvy and some other routes can save you a few minutes. But this is the route you have to take and experience at least once in your life.

While you’re still in West Hollywood, on the Sunset strip, there is no way to imagine, that Sunset Blvd can turn into a beautiful non-commercial strut in just a minute drive west of West Hollywood.

Then you drive among nice Beverly Hills mentions, which all have nice landscape on any side of their perimeter, you kind of get use to go curve by curve and guessing what you will see behind the next turn. Then you hit Bel Air, California, which is Los Angeles jurisdiction, they are not separate city, like Beverly Hills, they have the same LAPD service, like the rest of Los Angeles.

All houses in Bel Air big lots have big yards and square footage. The price of a home starts at $15 million in Bel Air. It’s on the right, and the streets that take you there have beautiful gates, but they are open.

Bel Air goes up to the hills, on the right, and on the left, down the hill, is UCLA, with their nice and wide spread campus.

Then you cross the I-405 Freeway and drive through Brentwood, home of OJ Simpson.

After Brentwood you will see Pacific Palisades area, which is above Santa Monica City, but belongs to Los Angeles.

There is a few canyons, that take you down to the ocean from Sunset Blvd, but you keep rolling along and out of nowhere there it is, Pacific Ocean! There is Gladstone’s Fish restaurant and lots of parking along the beach, and that is the place that some surfers love to use. Although the shore is rocky in that place, the waves must be better than on the other beaches.

Let’s turn left on Pacific Coast Highway and drive for a bit, there is Santa Monica City with the pear from Forrest Gump movie and with Bubba Gump restaurant right on the pier.

But before you get there, you pass some nice beaches with lots of sand and parking lots and some private beach front clubs, that are not looking for new members.

Then you keep going and hit the traffic light that says “California Incline” and take left. You are on the Ocean Ave and California Ave in Santa Monica City.
