One of the main indicators you can tell for when your alternator is not charging your battery properly. Generally on most cars today, they do have a battery light on the dash and generally you will find that the battery light will stay on after you started the car. Some people mistake that for the battery is actually at fault, but actually generally it means it’s the alternator. And one thing that can happen, you can be driving along, you might pull up at the traffic lights and your car will absolutely die and you won’t be able to start again. Reason for that being is the alternator has not been putting the charge back into the battery that the car’s been using and basically your car’s computer system etc has just been running on the battery until it’s being flattened and hence why the car will just die.
