Wireless sirens and wireless alarm systems are equipped with a high power transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter and the receiver unit comes in various different designs as per customer requirement. A few common designs of transmitters and receivers are listed below:
Battery operated transmitter, 2 buttons (1 for battery on/off and another for alarm on/off)
Power supply (12VDC) operated transmitter with an extendable electrical wire for alarm button
Power supply (12VDC) operated transmitter with multiple alarm buttons and extendable wires
Transmitter with extendable wires are used in various factories, plants for siren or hooter activation. The receiver also comes in various designs:
Receiver with inbuilt siren alarm (100-105 db output sound)
Receiver with relay contactor points to connect external electrical devices (relays have 5Amps/220VAC drive)
Multiple relay drives to drive more than 1 electrical devices viz. alarm, hooter, lights etc.
Timer based sirens, the receiver can be programmed to activate the sirens for a specific amount of time as well
Multiple receivers from a single transmitter
There is a possibility of one-to-one or one-to-many or many-to-one or even many-to-many transmitter receiver combination designs.
Wireless sirens has wide segment of applications for security and maintenance. Remotely a wireless siren can be operated. A few typical applications are as follows:
A supervisor at the rooftop of an unreconstructed building presses to in alert fellowmen to control concrete flow
A person in villa presses the remote in case of panic to alert the security at the gate
A security presses the alarm button in case of intruder in a factory premises
Small traffic gates in departmental stores / offices
Sirens in field jobs of construction, mining etc.
The applications for wireless siren systems is enormous and customized. The basic working principle is by sending radio signals from one point to another. A light indicator receiver has a loud siren / alarm blower. The audio can easily alert people in a radius of 200 meters in open area.
Operation mechanism:
First turn on the power button of the transmitter to activate it
Next press the alarm ON button (this will energise the receiver siren)
Turning off the alarm button switches off the siren
The receiver unit operate on 12VDC (Adapter unit is provided along with). It can be plugged with external battery as well.
The transmitter unit can be opened to change the batteries as well.
